- 1.5 cups All-Purpose Flour Sifted
- 1.5 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 tsp Ground Ginger
- 1/4 tsp Allspice
- 1/4 tsp Clove
- 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
- 1/2 cup Dark Brown Sugar Packed
- 6 tbsp Salted Butter Room Temperature
- 1 Egg
- 1/4 cup Molasses
- 1/2 tbsp Maple Syrup
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla
Icing
- 1.5 cup Powdered Sugar
- 1.5 tbsp Water
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sift the flour into a large bowl and add the spices and brown sugar. Beat the egg and add that along with the butter, molasses, maple syrup and vanilla to the bowl.
Mix together and you will get a thick dough. Place in the freezer for 30 minutes to harden.
Once cooled, place on a floured piece of parchment paper and roll out dough to make the cookies. Lay the cut unbaked, cookies onto a parchment lined sheet pan and bake for 8-10 minutes. The cookies will not brown so visually it is hard to tell when they are done. 8 minutes should be sufficient depending on how thick you make the cookies.
When the cookies are done, mix the icing ingredients and pipe using a ziploc bag. Just cut a TINY hole in a corner.
